Dr. Oppenheimer received his undergraduate and medical degree from the six-year Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University. He completed his residency and research fellowship at Stanford University. A board-certified diagnostic radiologist, Dr. Oppenheimer has practiced at Boulder Community Health since 1983. He is the senior member of Boulder Radiologists Inc, a physician group working with Boulder Community Hospital to provide the highest quality radiologist services. He practices all facets of diagnostic imaging. He has a special interest in woman’s imaging, including mammography, minimally invasive breast biopsy, bone density testing (DEXA), screening breast ultrasound and breast MRI. He is certified by the American College of Radiology and FDA. He is a founding member of the weekly BCH Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Conference and the liaison with the American College of Radiology Breast Center of Excellence Program. Dr. Oppenheimer is a member of the Boulder County Medical Society, Radiologic Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, American College of Radiology and Colorado Radiology Society. His hobbies include bicycling, skiing, gardening, model trains and watching movies. He has been married for over 40 years and has 2 grown children, both born at Boulder Community Hospital. He is readily available to answer questions about medical imaging for the Boulder community, and for second opinions regarding imaging studies.
