Provider Bio
Dr. Berngard is a board-certified pulmonologist who joined Boulder Community
Health in 2018.
Dr. Berngard graduated magna cum laude from the University of Colorado
at Boulder with a major in chemical engineering, minor in biochemistry
and a focus in Spanish. He received his medical degree at the University
of Colorado. During medical school, he spent a year doing community health
research in Guatemala.
He completed residency in internal medicine at the University of Colorado.
He subsequently completed a fellowship in pulmonary, critical care and
sleep medicine at the University of California, San Diego. While in fellowship,
he dedicated one year to advanced training in pulmonary vascular disease.
Dr. Berngard specializes in all aspects of pulmonary medicine. He has a
special interest and expertise in pulmonary hypertension, right heart
failure and venous thromboembolism. In addition to standard pulmonary
and critical care procedures, Dr. Berngard also performs right heart catheterization,
endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) and percutaneous tracheostomy.
Dr. Berngard is married with two young children. In his free time, he enjoys
fly fishing, cycling, backpacking and most things outdoors. He is fluent
in Spanish.
